Frequently Asked Questions

Will I feel better after just one adjustment?

A lot of our members do feel better after just one adjustment! While you will likely feel some shifts starting with your first adjustment or two, healing is a process. Our goal is to create sustainable change and improvements, not to provide a band-aid for your symptoms.

If I start seeing a chiropractor, is it something I have to do forever?

We value choice, so our goal is to empower you to make the best decision for yourself and your healing journey. Most of our practice members choose to incorporate chiropractic care into their wellness routine because it allows them to be the best version of themselves.

Is chiropractic safe for children?

Absolutely! Adjustments look VERY different for children than adults – they are incredibly gentle! We receive extensive training in pediatric assessment and adjusting. We have immense care and respect for children and their developing systems. With us, your children are in great hands. We promise to walk you and your child through every step of the journey.

What is the youngest age a baby can be adjusted?

The truth is, once a baby is born, they can be adjusted if necessary. We’ve adjusted babies just hours old and routinely see babies as young as a week or two old. Rest assured, our adjustment uses about the same amount of pressure you would use to check the ripeness of a tomato. Babies often sleep through their adjustments because they are so gentle.

Can I get adjusted during pregnancy?

Absolutely! We recommend you get regular adjustments throughout your pregnancy to keep your nervous system functioning optimally! Dr. Madelyn has additional training and sees pregnant patients daily in practice. We work directly with your birth team to ensure you have the best experience during your pregnancy!

What is the Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is training offered through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. This protocol is a tool designed for pregnant women to reduce pelvic, muscular, and ligamentous imbalances. You can learn more about Webster Technique here.

Do you direct bill to my insurance company?

YES! We have over 30 insurance companies we direct bill.

Can I still go to the chiropractor, even if I’m not in pain?

Yes. Chiropractic is about optimizing your brain and nervous system function. Pain is often the last thing to arrive and the first to go away, which is why we don’t focus on the symptoms but on body function.

Are chiropractors real doctors?

Yes. Chiropractors complete training comparable to medical doctors, including studying anatomy, physiology, neuroscience and practical/clinical applications. The main difference is that medical doctors learn about medications and surgery, while chiropractors learn extensive neurological analysis and spinal adjusting. Chiropractors have over seven years of post-secondary education. They must pass national board exams before they can practice. Chiropractors are recognized and regulated under the same extensive professional requirements in Alberta as medical doctors, dentists and optometrists.

Can chiropractic help me with migraines or regular headaches?

If you suffer from headaches regularly, it may be worth considering chiropractic care. We can reduce the pain of tension headaches and migraines by realigning the spine, which can help to reduce joint irritation, relax muscles, and restore nerve supply to organs.

What is Functional Neurology?

Functional Neurology is applied clinical neuroscience to help the brain heal from a trauma or incident. Dr. Tim has a wide knowledge base in neurology that helps him determine which functional area of the brain is not working optimally, and which treatments can improve its function. Functional Neurology can help a wide range of neurological disorders from post-concussion syndrome to vertigo and more.
